Void Filling
Voids are a common problem we find under many driveways, patios, garage floors, and even basement floors. They are typically caused from either erosion or poorly compacted soil that is settling. If you have a broken pipe under your slab or if your downspout is not draining properly, soil can actually erode away from under the slab. And many times we find that when the home was built the concrete was poured on poorly compacted soil, so years later as the soil finally settles in, a void forms under the slab. It can take up to 10 years for disturbed soil to stop settling.
If you think you have a void forming under your concrete slab or foundation, give us a call and we’ll come do a free inspection for you!
